Excellent, like all Mr. Maass's titles. After the first twenty pages I was already making changes to my work in progress. I have five titles published, but learning the craft is a never ending process, and The Fire In Fiction has given me new ways to approach the work.

I remember sitting next to Don during a writers conference and hearing him explain the theory & concept behind this book. He had every second of my attention then, and this book delivers on the promise. He knows what drives fiction and his advice is a boon to writers trying to succeed in the commercial market.

This man sure knows his stuff. If I could really do everything he so carefully explains, I'd be in the gold! Alas, easier said than done. But this author is a genius.
