Getting Started In Writing: An Independent Study Course

Do you feel you have an aptitude for writing, but you've never had a chance to really give it serious attention? Perhaps you've been writing reports and memos for work, and you're yearning to try something more creative—maybe even try your hand at freelancing. Are you overwhelmed by the possibilities? This independent study guide provides an introduction and overview to a number of types of writing, from short stories to novels. You'll be encouraged to experiment with a variety of forms with the goal of discovering your own writing path!

This course is presented in spiral-bound workbook format. You can work at your own pace, reading lessons as many times as you'd like, and working through the accompanying lecture supplements, creative exercises, and writing assignments.
